Subject: 63 points only
I need some good advice what to do next.
My CAIPS says I have only 63 points where I should have 68.
I have Master of Arts diploma and 17 years of education and I got only 20 points instead of 25, plus they assesed my language for 12 points only. Is there any help at this point? I do not have my IA yet.
Anything I can do before they will reject my application?

you have to include proof for all years of education you claim in your application. make sure you sent everything.
also, even if you claim 16 points for English, if it is not supported by solid documentation (IELTS of 7 or language proficiency letter plus other letter of support for your language skills) you´ll get less than 16 (12 in this case)

Hi Peter,

The first thing you should do is appear in IELTS(General) as soon as posible. You will have to score atleast 7 in each section to get the max 16 points for IELTS.

As far as your education is concerned did you submit a notarized copy of your degree as well as official transcripts in sealed envelop from the University? If not then you can send the educational documents again immediately.

this is a question for peter and everyone.first, peter, did CIC ask you to provide ietls?

if not, rest of you guys, do you think cic would simply just give you language socres whatever they think it should be, instead of requesting IELTS if they are not satisified with what you provided?

DB, why do you need to know his timeline? He asked about English assessment. Does knowing his timeline help you to help with this problem????
Sometimes knowing timelines does not matter.

Many times I have seen a topic started about whatever and then someone asks for a timeline. WHY????
Obsession with timelines will cause undo stress and will make your waiting time even worse.
Everyone´s process is different...timelines will be totally different. Worry about yours and no one else´s unless the fact that knowing their timeline will help with their questions.
In this case...it does not matter.

Peter -

Most likely they did not consider your DIPLOMA as a DEGREE and hence they gave you marks based on your highest degree.

You may want to try to get a certification saying your DIPLOMA is equivalent to a DEGREE in your trade.

Best wishes.

I agree with 34.156.

Departure Bay - it is highly immature to ask everytime about timelines irrespetive of their question.

I don´t mean to mix up everything here but just want to share to everybody in this forum. my friend applied SW to CIC Buffalo when he was doing his thesis for master degree and hasn´t completed his entire of documents such as diploma, transcript and current letter of employment until now. His IELTS score point was only 12. Surprisingly, he got the IA letter stating that he doesn´t have to present for interview either. Just being asked to follow up to the next steps such as medical exams, bank statement and police clearance within 90 days. Do you think 67 points is required? In his case, I assumed that by the time he applied, he only had less than 67 points (he was considering to have 20 points for education, not more than a year work experience, 12 English score, married with 1 kid, wife or himself don´t have relative in canada).
I really don´t have any idea how they work. My lawyer said that everything depends on the officers and situation.
Me myself only wish for the best luck.....

Peter, Kenny was right. If you´re not asked for IELTS, just make an appointment for the test asap and do your best.

GBU and Happy Holiday!
