hi, I have a question. I am an american citizen applying for PR status in canada on a spousal sponsorship. about 2 years ago when I came to canada on a visitor´s visa, i was arrested for assaulting my spouse. assault charges were filed and a restraining order was set between us as i was given certain "conditions" for quite a few months until court dates were made for sentencing. now, for a second interview and different from the first one, immigration canada has decided to meet with me to learn about the arrest and charges. is this a sign that i may be denied PR status?
thanks.

(in reply to: PR question) Previous post is ignorant in not knowing background or situation. Kindly refrain from this sort of judgmentalism, which might be common in the poster´s country of origin.
I would say if you have an adequate explanation and circumstances relate to relational or marital discord, you might be ok.
