Subject: India PCC Alternative Required Very Long Lead Time |

I recently recieved my papers for medical. With that I also need to file my bank statements and new PCC´s. I am from India and the PCC lead time for the Indian Embassy where I live is 45 days. They issued me the first PCC after 4 months and I am sure they will take their own sweet time this time as well.
I am just wondering if there is an alternative to the PCC that I can get from the Indian Embassy. Can I get some other type of PCC directly from India which is acceptable to the Immigration Authorities ?

(in reply to: India PCC Alternative Required Very Long Lead Time) Hi IK,
As you have already been issued a PCC from the Indian embassy I think if you apply again you should be able to get it faster.
If you want you can ask a friend or relative in India to go to the SP´s office in your city and apply for a police clearance certificate. You will need to provide a copy of your passport. You know how things work in India so it is not possible to let you know how long it will take to get the certificate.

(in reply to: India PCC Alternative Required Very Long Lead Time) Sent my papers in March 2004
Got the acknowledgement dated 2 June 2004 (The ack card said it might take as long as 18 months for us to get back to you)
Got my medical papers 5 December 2005 (18 months later)
Have to return the papers by early February 2006 (within 90 days)

Indian PCC (in reply to: India PCC Alternative Required Very Long Lead Time) hi IK,
I have heard that indian PCC is valid for 1 yr. so you can ask the high commission to send a renewed one. by the way which CIC did you apply , south america? europe ? asia pacific. just curious since your papers were processed fast.

(in reply to: India PCC Alternative Required Very Long Lead Time) Guys,
I´ve also been asked to submit a new PCC (I´m an in-Canada applicant). However, I have not left Canada since my previous PCC. How can I bypass sending a new one to avoid delays?
