Subject: Can i leave for Canada if wife is pregnant ?
  Hi Friends,
As like other too many friends,
I am waiting for passport from Delhi.
I completed Medical and sent everything Fees, original passports also to New Delhi, India on June, 2005
and as we all know, expecting to get passports by Jan 2006.

I want to know, if my wife is pregnant now, upto how many months can i reach to canada ?
Means suppose if she is pregnant by 3 months, can i leave from india to Canada ?
If baby born there after 6 months, will there be any problem for her or she will be citizen directly ?

Pls tell me about above deails.
Thanks in Advance
Nir

In above question, I am asking about departure of mine and my wife both.
Means If she is pregnant then can we both leave in that condition ?
If yes, upto how many months ?
Means if she is pregnant by 3 months then can we leave or
will there be any problem at there while passing from Immegration process ?

Hey Nir

As far as I can tell, if your wife is pregnant and she still has not delivered then you can easily go to Canada and she can deliver there. I guess if a child is still unborn its not considered as a candidate. Also nobody is going to XRay your wife or ask her if she is pregnant. Its perfectly natural to be pregnant. She can very well travel, but the sooner the better.

On the other hand if she delivers in India before you go, then you will have to apply for papers for the baby. You can of course go alone and land alone, but also dependent immigrants need to land in Canada with the principal applicant. So it might be a good idea for everyone to go together.

All the best

Also bear in mind most airlines will refuse to fly your wife in her ninth month of pregnancy.
