Subject: PR card
Okay, I´ve bored everyone senseless with this topic. My wife has gotten different info from a foreign language website. So, I´d like to clarify.
My wife is going to Canada to activate her Permanent Residency. At the airport immigration will ask her some questions.
Immigration will also fill in/help her fill in the application for a PR card. Does she need to bring pictures of the correct size with her? Does she need to do anything to prepare to fill in the PR card application before arriving at the airport in Canada?
FYI, my wife will stay only a few days before New Year´s. I am Canadian. We live together in Asia for the time being.
Thank you everyone.

I will give you my experience when my wife landed. I was also with her but I´m a born Canadian.

We went to the Customs counter together and I told the officer that my wife is a landing immigrant. He completed my processing(the ussual ´any alcohol, tobacco, or declare anything) then he told us to go through and to the right to the Immigration office area.

Here we gave the lady the COPR and passport. She ask us for a Canada address to mail the PR card to and gave us pamphlets on immigration and ask a few more questions that I don´t remember but none of these were anything that would cause you to be denied/refused. Then she sent us on our way.

We didn´t need to pay money. Didn´t need photos and no photo was taken -they use photos that you have already previously sent them-, and it was generally a pleasant experience.

This was our experience. I´m not saying everybody is the same, but if there is anything more that you need to provide CIC will inform you of what to do and bring when they send you your passport back.

Hope this was helpful. Feel free to ask if you need more detail and I´ll help the best I can.

Brilliant, Timothy.
If you can put a smile on your wife´s face as much as you just put on mine, well... enough said. ;-)
Thank you very much.

well, this is different from what I have heard. As per my understanding, you firest get into canada, then do separate paper work to apply of the PR card... Please enlighten me !!
