| Subject: Proof of funds |

Hi guys,
I just had an emergency, and i had to empty my bank account. Are there any other sources that could be used as proof of funds for SW application, once IA is received? Example, could I use an appraisal of my home showing its worth as a proof of funds, if funds are not available on bank statement? What else could i use?

I used my property too but CIC did not consider it. I think the only acceptable fund is cash or cash equivalent. CIC needs us to have immediate funds that can support us and our family.
What did you use as proof upon application?

I used my husbands bank statement. The catch is that I am the primary applicant, and my husband lives abroad. They did accept this initial documentation of funds though. Any thoughts?

Is your husband accompanying you to Canada?
Legally and morally his money is your money...am I wrong here? So I believe that the proof of funds required is for the whole family. I cannot support this with a CIC rule but if your husband´s account is sufficient then you should have nothing to worry.

Yes, my husband is accompanying me to Canada. Hopefully i would be able to use his account info, if i can´t come up with USD funds by IA time. I also hope they wave our interview as getting him a US visa to attend an interview is near impossible. I´ll keep hope alive though :(
