Subject: Question Regarding Medical test/ Report.

My family doctor informed that, one of my 3 year kids has THALASSEMIA MINOR, he said there is nothing to worried, and only need to know for him that before getting married his partner must not be with Thalassemia Minor.

My question is for Canada Immigrating medical test, is he going to fail and not admissible for Thalassemia Minor? If yes what will happen with my file?

Thank you

I don´t believe that CIC would deny your son?s application based on him having this disease from what you posted this does not appear to be communicable disease. CIC test for TB, HIV and other contagious diseases.

Will this disease require costly treatment? Even in this case CIC is not allowed to disqualify your son because treatment will be costly. There was a recently ruling from the Supreme Court of Canada that dealt with disability and a refusal to issue PR status because the cost of the child?s treatment would be every expensive.

Someone else can shed some light on this case and the subject.

Thalasemia minor is not a problem. It doesnt need any treatment. Just keep an eye on his heamoglobin level.
Your doc is right you need to be careful his partner must not be with Thalassemia Minor.
Nothing to worry about Thalasemia minor
Good luck
