I applied as a skilled worker to Buffalo in August 2004. I´m one of the those who got the "your file will be reviewed for finalization in early 2006" message. After I got that message I requested my CAIPS notes to see if they had any information. I got them today. I´m disappointed. Nothing has changed. The background check is still apparently not completed, no medicial decision made, nothing different from the first time I requested the notes a couple months after I got my IA. In the narrative notes section, a couple of bring forward dates have passed, with no notes being entered.
The next bring forward date is 1-1-2006 -- though I doubt any one at CIC actually works on new year´s day.

Does your eclient shows "medical results are received"?

no, the the CAIPS notes show medicals were received in May 2005 -- an evaluation number is entered M01 (=perfect) but no medicial decision is noted in the CAIPS notes and my eclient still says the same thing it said in September 2004: "We began processing your application on ...."

Did you get an email "after" you had ordered the CAIPS? Usually they get a request for CAIPS and put it in queue to print them and send it you.
It may have happened that your BG checks have been received in meantime and they are now going to make a review early 2006. This is indicated on your email.
Well what you can do is, to order another CAIPS around the first week of Jan 2006 to finally see what is going on.
I´m in similar situation, waiting for BG checks to finalize.

No, I emailed them (and received the response) a couple weeks before I requested the CAIPS notes. That´s why I´m disappointed. I was hoping to see some evidence in the notes that everything was done except the final decision "FINDEC" but that is not the case. I´ve still only passed the paper screening and selection decisions. Everything else is blank.
The only positive is that see is that, indeed, my file is set for review in early 2006 -- Jan. 1 in fact. But whether that means I´ll be receiving a passport request any time soon after that is anybodies guess.
I wouldn´t feel so much pressure to get the PPR if I hadn´t accepted a job already. I am supposed to start April 24th. If I don´t have a visa by then, I´m screwed.

I applied in SW cat in Jun 2004. My CAIPS also same as urs.
